Matthieu Crest

Partner and Head of the Energy & Circular Transition platform
Paris

Matthieu Crest is a Partner at Corporate Value Associates in Paris, member of CVA’s Energy Sector. He currently leads CVA’s Energy and Circular Transition (ECT) Platform, which organizes CVA’s expertise, resources and competencies across the markets which should structure the New Energy Systems, in a ‘post energy transition’ perspective – from clean generation solutions to new end usages (electrical mobility, decentralized energy systems, smart and pilotable buildings, etc.)

Matthieu graduated from the French Business School HEC and from the Political Studies Institute of Paris (Sciences-Po). He also holds a degree in Economic geography. Since joining CVA, Matthieu dedicated most of his time leading strategy, marketing and industrial organization projects for top energy and energy services companies, particularly in Europe, North America, Japan and North Africa (power plants developers and operators, energy suppliers, energy equipment manufacturers, automation and control players, energy services companies, building players, environmental services majors, etc.). This has led him to cover extensively and work on a very regular basis in the renewable energies markets, the nuclear cycle, the energy services and energy efficiency businesses, the retail side, the storage business, the green gases… with a systemic and integrative approach.

He is also an expert in the clean mobility businesses, mainly in the electrical vehicles, CNG and hydrogen field, covering both the vehicle and the recharge / re-fuelling infrastructure activities and related services.

On all these different markets, Matthieu led mainly strategic initiatives (business portfolio optimization, markets assessment, growth strategy, business model design, due diligences, etc.), strategic marketing projects (client qualitative and quantitative segmentation, offer positioning, stakeholders management, offer designs, distribution strategy, pricing, etc.), and organization and transformation programs.
