Background

Junichi began to forge a unique background across the Japanese and Western cultures while still at university. After completing both a bachelors and masters degree in Science and Engineering, Junichi was awarded a scholarship to study at the State University of New York in the USA.
After four years working as a Research Engineer for Asahi Glass in Japan, he was awarded the John Swire Fellowship to teach economics as a Visiting Fellow and conduct research for 3 years at Oxford University.

Junichi then launched his European career by working for the Battelle Institute in Switzerland as a techno-economics researcher. He then moved on to France working with Renault where he led a new product development team and managed a joint venture with a Japanese company. In the early 80's Junichi began his publishing career in Europe with two books, Business Professionals at Battelle (1983) and The Spirit of a Business Maverick (1988). In 1985 Junichi joined Air Liquide Group and over the next 15 years worked in France, USA, and Japan in positions ranging from General Manager for their electronics related business in the US, Representative Director of Air Liquide Pacific in Japan, to his final position as Director of Investor Relations at the head office in Paris.

In 1999 Junichi left Air Liquide Group and joined Corporate Value Associates (CVA) as Managing Director of the Tokyo office. In parallel with his consulting, he continues to be a prolific writer with his most recent publication "Moving to a Vision Beyond Orthodoxy (2004)". He also writes columns for weekly magazines and often gives lectures at top management seminars as an invited guest speaker in Europe and Japan.

In 1995, the French Government awarded him the National Order of Merit for his contribution to the promotion of business and academic relations between France and Japan.
